Opal Divine was my grand-mother's name. She was a woman who enjoyed good music, good friends, good drink and a good card game. In honor of her we bring to you Opal Divine's Austin Grill. Please enjoy this establishment with the same spirit for which she lived.

Geeks Who Drink: Live hosted, Anglo & Irish style pub trivia quiz!
We're pretty sure you're a nerd, and since you're already here at Opal's website, odds are that you like to enjoy a drink now and then as well! Combine the two and you've got a recipe for Geeks Who Drink, Opal's hosted pub quiz!
Geeks Who Drink quizzes are free, and take place at all three Opal's locations! Play in teams of up to six people, and win bar cash and Internet fame:
Freehouse: Tuesdays 8:00pm-10:00pm Penn Field: Saturdays 10:00pm-12:00am Marina: Saturdays 10:00pm-12:00am
Our quizzes are unique in that they include two rounds of audio questions - kind of like name that tune, but with an edge. Examples: Songs We Lost Our Virginity To in The 1990s, Top 40 Songs Butchered by David Hasslehoff, Disco Classics in German...
And as an added bonus: Geeks Who Drink blogs every quiz. So the day after quiz night, players can find photos of the winning teams, the final scores and a small narrative of the evening's festivities on the Geek's website.
Here's how it's done...
What is a Pub Quiz?
A pub quiz is like it says: A quiz game played in a pub. It's an Irish tradition, however, our goal is the same: to foster friendly competition, and promote social drinking in a relaxed environment.
How does it work?
The quiz consists of eight rounds of eight questions and is played in teams of up to six people. Questions are read aloud by the Quizmaster and teams write down the answers, turning them in to the quizmaster at the end of each round.
Geeks Who Drink quizzes are unique in that they include two rounds of audio questions. One is your basic "name that tune" round with a theme (like "songs about drinking"); the other features soundbites from movies, TV and current events. We also have a visual handout round with pictures of famous cartoon characters, criminals, animals, criminal animals, etc...
The quizmaster is bumrushed on the bonus question for a free pint. This is when people who've never played quiz before start paying attention. Instant Gratification Uber Alles.
Does it cost anything to play?
No. Some quizzes charge an entry fee and put it towards a cash purse. Geeks Who Drink believes it's best when the thrill comes from winning alone.
What do I get out of it?
If you're a player, you can win anything from bar cash to free pints to bizarre prizes courtesy of the weekly Bonus Email Question. And we mean bizarre prizes. Your team can also revel in the Internet glory of having your photo posted on the Geek's website.
How long does the quiz take?
Just over two hours though on particularly crowded nights it can push nearly three.
Is the quiz hard?
We do our best to mix it up so the team that knows their pop culture might stumble on a round like "Country Music That Doesn't Suck." The team with the highest IQ might not win, but the most versatile will.
Hint for players: For best results, try and wrangle a team that's diverse in age, gender, and life experience. Most folks over 35 will be stumped on questions about the Nintendo Wii while most folks under 35 know little about the Reagan administration.
